Bake Sale! Car Wash! Candy Jar! Flower Sale!

Host a Bake Sale in your cafeteria, your lobby, or your parking lot. "Sweet talk" your friends into baking or donating something sugary to your sale. Then sell all the goodies to your coworkers, classmates, or friends.

Bake a coffee cake and sell each slice at your desk for a dollar. If you want to raise a bit more, sell some premium coffee too!

Fill a jar with candy. Charge people $1 to guess the number of candies in the jar. After a few days, reveal the winner. The prize for the correct guess? The jar filled with candy!

How about some eye candy? Some of our more uninhibited friends staged their own version of the classic car wash fundraiser. Now that the sun is shining, gather up some of your free-spirited friends to host a car wash for AIDS Walk New York.

Click here (coming soon) to download an 8 1/2 x 11 flyer that has space for you to personalize. Print multiple copies, and find the most ingenious places to put them: in the elevator, inside the bathroom stalls, on your dormitory door, your locker, or inside the desk drawers of your friends at school or work.

Host a karaoke night for your friends, classmates, or coworkers. In the spirit of a good cause and good fun, dare someone to sing a specific song and sponsor your dare with $5. The person that's been dared can either sing the requested song or pay an additional $10 to "pass the dare" to the next person. Each time the dare is passed, the amount doubles. If you've ever wanted to hear your boss sing "Proud Mary," this may be your chance!

Are your closets overflowing? Is there a jamboree of junk under your bed? Now's the perfect time to host a garage, yard, or sidewalk sale. Post a sign that says the proceeds are going to AIDS Walk New York and passersby will be more inclined to stop and shop.

Buy a dozen roses or daffodils and display them in a vase on your desk. Then sell each blossom for AIDS Walk New York.

Charge your friends $10 for each suggestion of a tattoo design to be placed on yourself and another $10 for suggestions on where the tattoo should go. A few days before AIDS Walk, have a drawing to reveal the tattoo design and placement. Kids, don't try this one without parental permission!

Do you and your friends have special skills, such as resume revisions, organizing closets, house cleaning, painting furniture or rooms, haircuts, manicures, knitting, or cooking? Well then, hold a Special Skills Auction at work, in your neighborhood, or at your school!
