We need over 2,500 volunteers on Sunday, May 19 to ensure a safe and fun day for all at AIDS Walk New York! We have opportunities for everyone, even groups: you can greet participants, total donations, cheer on walkers, and so much more! Please see our volunteer opportunities below and then let us know how you would like to help!

CROWD CONTROL
AIDS Walk Shift: Sunday, May 19 from 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.   
Mandatory Orientation: Saturday, May 18 from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.  Meet in Central Park near the Naumberg Bandshell, northeast of Sheep Meadow.
Welcome walkers as they enter Central Park and be part of the excitement at the start and finish line of AIDS Walk New York! Energetic and outgoing personalities are a must! Crowd Control Volunteers must be at least 16 years old. Click here ) to register as a Crowd Control Volunteer!

VENUE GREEN TEAM
AIDS Walk Shift: Sunday, May 19 from 6:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.   
Mandatory Orientation: Saturday, May 18 from 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.  Meet in Central Park near the Naumberg Bandshell, northeast of Sheep Meadow.
Green is the new black! Help us make AIDS Walk New York the most eco-friendly event it can be while also preserving the beauty of Central Park. The Green Team will help direct walkers to recycling locations in Central Park, sort recyclables, and ensure that no recyclables make it into a landfill. ROUTE GREEN TEAM
AIDS Walk Shift: Sunday, May 19 from 8:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.  
Mandatory Orientation: Saturday, May 18 from 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m.  Meet in Central Park near the Naumberg Bandshell, northeast of Sheep Meadow.
The specialized AIDS Walk Route Green Team will help direct walkers to Green Zones along the AIDS Walk route, sort recyclables at Checkpoints, and ensure that no recyclables make it into a landfill. Help us become as clean and green as possible! Click here  to register for the Route Green Team.

MONITORS
AIDS Walk Shift: Sunday, May 19 from 6:45 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. 
Mandatory Orientation: Saturday, May 18 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. LOCATION TBD.
Monitor Volunteers get a front-row seat to the Walk, so they're also able to cheer the walkers on and see all of the participants as they go by! Monitors direct the flow of participant traffic, and help keep walkers safe at key intersections around the Walk route. They must be outgoing, energetic, and good communicators in order to guide the walkers safely. Monitor Volunteers must be at least 16 years old. Click here  to register as a Monitor Volunteer!

STRIKE CREW - SHIFT 2
AIDS Walk Shift: Sunday, May 19 from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. 
No Orientation 
Join our Strike Crew Team! Help us clean up and break down the venue in Central Park. This volunteer position is great for groups and all ages are welcome! Strike Crew Volunteers do not have an orientation. Click here  to register as a Strike Crew Volunteer!

INFORMATION ARMY 
AIDS Walk Shift: Sunday, May 19 from 7:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.   
Mandatory Orientation: Saturday, May 18 from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. Meet in Central Park near the Naumberg Bandshell, northeast of Sheep Meadow.
Help direct 45,000 AIDS Walk participants through Central Park! As a member of this elite group of volunteers, you will provide assistance to help walkers turn in funds, find their Team Meeting Stations, and find other areas in Central Park. You will be the AIDS Walk expert that our walkers will seek out on the morning of the event! Click here  to register as an Information Army Volunteer!

SIGN-IN 
AIDS Walk Shift: Sunday, May 19 from 6:45 a.m. - 12:45 p.m.  
Mandatory Orientation: Wednesday, May 15 from 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.at GMHC, OR Saturday, May 18 from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at All Souls Church
Be the first face participants see the morning of AIDS Walk New York! Sign-In Volunteers check in walkers and collect the funds they have raised. You must be friendly, outgoing, and detail-oriented, and have a valid photo ID. Sign-In Volunteers must be at least 16 years old. Click here  to register as a Sign-In Volunteer!

We encourage everyone who participates in AIDS Walk New York to raise funds for the fight against HIV/AIDS. Therefore, we credit all of our volunteers with walking 10 kilometers. To assist you with your fundraising efforts, we will create a personal fundraising web page just for you when you register as a 2013 AIDS Walk Volunteer.

You can utilize your personal web page to send fundraising emails to friends and family, track your donations, and get AIDS Walk Volunteer information. Fundraising is certainly not a requirement, but we encourage you to give it a try – if you have questions about online fundraising or need assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us at 212.807.9255 (WALK). Thank you!
