Dear Friends and Family, AIDS Walk Los Angeles is our community’s single most powerful and enduring response to the AIDS epidemic, and I am asking you to be a part of that response. I thank you in advance for being as generous as you can and for supporting me in this important cause.
This is my 14th year participating, and the fight is not over. Please join me in making a meaningful difference in the lives of people living with and affected by HIV/AIDS.
Did you know that...? - Every 9 ½ minutes, someone in the U.S. is infected with HIV.
- Every day in Los Angeles, seven people are infected with HIV.
- 20% of those infected with HIV do not know it.
Despite advancements made in the treatment and prevention of HIV, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reports that the overall rate of infection continues to rise.
AIDS Walk Los Angeles is a 10-kilometer fundraising walk benefiting AIDS Project Los Angeles (APLA) and other Los Angeles-based AIDS service organizations. APLA and its community partners provide life-sustaining food, counseling, job placement, medical and dental care, safe housing, and much more for thousands of Angelenos living with HIV/AIDS. Your donation helps make these services possible. They are essential to combating this terrible disease.
