Tom Whitman and his Gang of 100

For the fifth year in a row, Tom Whitman and his AIDS Walk Los Angeles team, Gang  of 100, have claimed the coveted title of #1 fundraising team!  One of the most influential socialites in Los Angeles, as well as Board Chair of AIDS Project Los Angeles (APLA), Tom inspires his Team Members to step up, reach out, and make a difference.  The Gang of 100 is known far and wide for their mid-walk pool party – truly putting the “fun” in fundraising! These young altruists have raised more than $600,000 for AIDS Walk Los Angeles since 2006.

It is Whitman’s belief that being involved with charitable organizations is an important part of being a member of the community.  He acknowledges that one of the benefits of his job as an event producer and promoter in the gay community is that he has the ability to reach out to certain demographics very easily; with this benefit comes responsibility.  As a way of giving back, he decided to use his access to a wide variety of people in the community to support the mission of APLA by forming and promoting his own AIDS Walk Los Angeles fundraising team.

Thank you, Tom!
